Chindia Tower

Chindia Tower, built in the 15th century, is an emblem of the city of Târgoviște and an important historical landmark of Romania. This tower, part of the former royal court, was used not only as a defense tower but also as an observation point. At a height of approximately 27 meters, visitors can climb the 143 steps to reach the top of the tower, where they can enjoy a remarkable panorama of the city and its surroundings. From this point, details of the medieval architecture in Târgoviște, as well as the natural beauty of Dâmbovița County, can be observed.

Inside, Chindia Tower hosts temporary exhibitions that illustrate the history of the city and the region. It is also an ideal place to learn about the rulers who governed Wallachia, especially Vlad Țepeș, also known as Vlad the Impaler.
